Therese Panetta-Young
Dr. Therese Panetta-Young, PT, DPT, COMT, is an exceptional physical therapist and serves as the Clinical Director at Panetta Physical Therapy’s Ronkonkoma location. With a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University in 2010, specializing in interdisciplinary perspectives of health and wellness, Therese brings a solid educational foundation to her practice.
Her illustrious journey into the field of physical therapy is deeply rooted in her family legacy, where she was exposed to the profound impact of this profession from a young age. Therese is dedicated to helping people live comfortably and pain-free, especially after injuries or surgeries. Her extensive experience across various clinical settings, including acute care/rehabilitation, early intervention, outpatient rehabilitation, and women’s health, enables her to deliver comprehensive and personalized care to a diverse range of patients.
As a former competitive cheerleader, Therese is deeply committed to working with developing cheerleaders, enhancing their performance while prioritizing injury prevention and treatment. She also finds great fulfillment in working with runners, utilizing biomechanical running analysis to optimize performance and reduce injury risks.
Therese employs a hands-on approach and advanced technology like dynamic speed and agility training, Alter-G treadmill, and biofeedback to ensure tailored and effective treatments for her patients. She specializes in providing additional support and promoting optimal healing through her expertise as a bracing specialist for ankle, knee, and back conditions.
Certified as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist and proficient in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and electrodiagnostic testing (NCV/EMG and SSEP), Therese’s collaboration with fellow physical therapists and referring physicians is instrumental in establishing accurate diagnoses and effective treatment approaches.
Beyond her clinical role, Therese is dedicated to educating the public through workshops on common injuries and conditions, empowering individuals with knowledge to better understand their bodies and take proactive steps towards their well-being.
Outside of her profession, Therese serves as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Community Ambulance Company in Sayville, NY. She also volunteers with “Yes We Can for Progress,” participating in trips to Haiti throughout the year to contribute to meaningful causes and uplift communities.
Residing in Oakdale, NY, with her loving husband TJ and their cherished daughters, Marielle and Charlotte, Therese’s genuine dedication, exceptional skills, and compassionate approach make her an invaluable asset in the field of physical therapy. She positively impacts the lives of her patients, cheerleaders, and the community at large.
