Ashley Rasiak, PT, DPT

Ashley graduated from Touro College of Health Sciences in Bayshore in 2011 with her Bachelors in Health Science and continued her studies to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Having been exposed to Physical Therapy since the age of 2 due to her own medial history, Ashley quickly realized she wanted to help others. She is passionate about her job and truly cares about her patients. She enjoys working with all diagnosis including neurological, vestibular, post operative conditions but is passionate in working with shoulder dysfunctions and the complexity it entails. She is committed to helping the patients return to their prior quality of life and doing so with some laughter along the way.

She has been exposed to different aspects of physical therapy including working in Pediatrics, Sub-Acute facilities and Acute Settings, but has mostly enjoyed working in the Outpatient Setting with its diversity and daily challenges.

She has been a Clinical Instructor as well as mentor to students completing their studies from Touro College and Stonybrook.

She has attended LIRRC races where she performed a research study entitled “Reliability of Lateral Step Down Test to Determine Faulty Running Mechanics”, this has led to her ability to record runners in the office and perform an assessment on their running mechanics, all with leading to areas to improve on and rehabilitate.

Ashley has been educated in A.R.T. (Active Release Techniques), Diagnostic Ultrasound and Kinesiotaping Techniques to assist in her patients’ rehab.

Ashley served as President of her Student Physical Therapy Association, and is a member of the APTA, CPR /AED/First Aide Certified.

Outside of work Ashley enjoys being active and spending time with her family and friends.
